WebWintility is an additional module for Wintility Pro that enables remote access to documents through any Internet browser.

The entry point to access your Catalogs can be anywhere within your current web site, on our public portal, or on a corporate site. If you choose to install WebWintility within your company Intranet/Internet, you can customize the opening HTML page.

Documents can be subject to Wintility’s intelligent, full text content search using complete phrase and whole or partial word searches. Users can browse categories, access Favorite and Recent document lists, download and upload, preview documents and conduct conferences.

Unlike other software that offers online access to information, WebWintility doesn’t require you to transfer any documents or information to an external server. They remain safe within the network, protected by user identification, access rules, security levels as well as guarded by the company firewall.

Unlimited access
Users have remote access to documents through any Internet browser. This secure and simple process allows you to define profiles that specify which users can access which documents and how. This module presents no restrictions on number of users. Information can be freely published without needing to estimate the potential number of end users and incur additional costs.

Precise find tool
The find tool lets users conduct full-text, complete phrase / whole or partial word searches in most document formats including PDFs and Excel charts through the Internet. Users can search the full text and all information fields to locate specific information quickly. The increased overall efficiency results in better customer service and faster time to market.

Security
WebWintility features a proprietary protocol that allows remote users to access Wintility Pro documents through a peer-to-peer socket connection. This process is subject to three levels of security.
Firewall level: the WebWintility target Catalogs are protected by the company firewall and are not accessed directly through the Internet, only through the WebWintility Protocol Server.
User Authorization Level: the user needs a password to access  Catalogs and solicit information. This authentication is done by consulting the WebWintility machine register within the company.
Profile based access: The Catalog administrator defines profiles for all those who will access documents. Through these profiles, the administrator defines exactly which parts of the Catalog are made available to each user or group. All solicitations are recorded in a history file.

Updated version always available
Web Wintility always makes the most current document available. As soon as it is captured in the Wintility Pro environment, it can be made available to Web Wintility users. Everything is simple, fast and safe. If the user has access to the document, he or she will see the most recent version.

Portal flexibility
The WebWintility service offers users a private/ public portal where they can make their information available. The WebWintility portal is a set of htmls, images, scripts, java applets and a database to authenticate users and computers that are trying to access the catalogs. Users can opt to use the WebWintility public portal or publish from their own intranet/Internet. In either case, documents and the related catalogs are not stored in the WebWintility portal. They remain in their original location, usually the Company’s Local Network.

Custom Access Profiles
WebWintility allows you to create custom personal or group access profiles for users. You can also create limited-access profiles, such as Guest, to make marketing materials and other group-specific documents easily available on the Web. 
For unidentified users, you can create a Free access profile. This lets you publish information, such as product updates, on the Internet with no restrictions.
