The Wintility Guard module simplifies document protection by creating an exclusive access area for authorized users. It blocks all other possible paths to a document. 

You can easily create a secure area any place in the network and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information. Administrative users can assign three levels of access to any document – read only, read and write and full access.

Users can take advantage of nearly all Wintility Pro actions on any document within the Guard area.

Easy to secure a document
Users can secure a document without consulting with the system administrator. Simplified security process means less time and hassle to secure a document.

No limitations for Guard Areas
Wintility gives users flexibility to determine where secure documents will be stored. Guard areas can be designated within the existing network resources, requiring no additional hardware to protect information.

Flexible user access
Protection level can be customized for each user. You have ample flexibility in determining what kind of access rights users have. Documents can be hidden, read only, read and write, or full control. This feature makes it easier to partially restrict access to certain information as opposed to total access or no access.

Documents have distinct security levels
Instead of dispersing documents with different security levels throughout the network, Wintility Guard lets you keep all documents in the same environment because the security level is given to documents – not areas. Documents with the same subject but varied security levels can remain saved in one place. This makes it easier to keep project work together. Users spend less time searching for all documents related to a certain subject.

Guard Area location is concealed 
Wintility Guard hides the actual location of the designated Guard Area. This offers additional protection against possible unauthorized access. Administrators won't need to worry about users trying to access directly through the network.

Full Tracking
Because documents stored in the Guard Area are only accessed through Wintility, all accesses and alterations are recorded.

Virus Protection
Documents stored in the Guard Area cannot be accessed directly through the network, therefore, are safe from viruses.

Windows Explorer Sharing	Wintility Guard Sharing
Because sharing is assigned to folders, all documents within the folders and sub-folders have the same type of access.*	Access is assigned to documents so a single user can have various levels of document access within a Guard Area
Viruses can take advantage of Windows Explorer sharing by spreading rapidly to all areas within the network.	Viruses cannot reach the documents stored in a Guard Area because access is granted solely by a secure, proprietary Wintility Guard Protocol.

(*) Windows/NT/2000/XP, using the NTFS file system, you can assign different document access levels, however, it is a complex task and can only be performed by advanced users.
